Our Mother’s House - Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice
The mission of the program is to offer single mothers and their children a safe and secure environment in which to achieve increased self-sufficiency through education, vocational training, and personal growth. Children attend Early Head Start, located on-site, while mothers are in school or working. Mothers work toward self-sufficiency and are required to attend life skills classes, such as parenting, self-esteem, nutrition, and financial literacy. Mothers additionally agree to follow house rules and regulations, to attend house meetings, and accept communal responsibilities. The licensed and certified program ensures the children are ready to enter the public school system. Children also receive daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
